Island born Robert J. Hunter combines his gruff and powerful voice with the wild thud of overdriven foot stomping blues guitar. His powerful and raw debut album, ’Songs for the Weary’, received blues chart success and critical acclaim and the single release, ‘Demons’, reached number one in the iTunes Blues Chart. ‘Before the Dawn’ followed late 2015 showing that Robert had matured and developed as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Robert then released a solo acoustic album, ‘Where I’m From’ on independent Camden based label, Spiritual Records. Robert’s following album and fourth studio release, ‘The Robert J Hunter Band’ was released early 2018 and featured further iTunes number one singles, ‘Wait Your Turn’ and ‘Suzy’. Later that year they released a live album recorded at The Flying Circus, Newark. The prolific writer, Robert J Hunter’s latest single, ‘Good People’ was released January 2019 and focuses on the ever growing gap in classes of society and issues with homelessness on the streets in London. In 2017 Robert was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) with his powerful ballad, ‘Preacher’ which was chosen from 16,000 entries. Robert also found success being nominated for the UK Blues Challenge. The Robert J Hunter Band have supported the likes of Wilko Johnson, The Animals, Kris Barras Band and Sari Schorr to name a few. The band are regulars on the UK festival circuit, as well as Europe. This is a road worn, dirty blues band that have been honed to super tight perfection by sheer hard work and volume of shows
